We went for it. That's for sure.
I have a love/hate relationship with glitter. How can you not love the way it sparkles and shines...on everything. Literally, everything.
I woke up this morning with lovely accents of orange, silver and black glitter on my hair, cheeks and arms. I'm sure I sent the girls to school looking as if they were ready to dress up for Halloween on October 9th.
After a jaunt to the park last night, the smoky, fall smell of a campfire and the crisp, cool temperature inspired us to work on our pumpkins. Paintbrushes, Modge Podge and glitter were present and artfully used by all.
So interesting to watch the girls last night. Each time they create it re-affirms what I already know.
Cate likes to get her hands dirty. It's not good enough to use a little bit of glitter. Why not the whole bottle! Cate is inspired by Jackson Pollock and her enthusiasm for his style is always apparent in her work.
Ava, on the other hand, had a clean workstation with all of her "tools" lined up appropriately. She tried to convince Cate to use the "pinch" technique which focuses on the minimal use of glitter but Cate wasn't going for it. Ava always inspired by the clean lines like her favorite artist Dali.
So today, after looking at the pile of glitter that needs to be cleaned, I whisper to myself "I will never use glitter again." But I know I'm just lying to myself. Until the next time...
